6.5x66 swede and 160 RN

I have trouble feeding 160 gr Hornady round nose bullets in my 6.5x55 swede the first round feeds in from the right side but the second bullet from the left jams into the barrel. Do I need to shave the rails ? SLIPP

If your rifle is a military mauser action they do not feed the 160gr RN very well. A pointy bullet will feed better, move back to the 140gr.

The barrel is round.
Jams where.......low, high, right, left?

Is the follower spring installed correctly?
Wondering if it is causing the follower to tilt or
cant slightly?

Never had a feeding problem in a M96 - are you using a modified M98 floor with spacer?

My Husky M38 cycles 160 RN like a dream. You must have something out of line or maybe check your over all length .

The 160gr is all I ever used in mine for moose etc. When you get your feeding issue solved try 42gr of either IMR 4350 or N204 with the 160 gr........it's a drill.......Harold

Thanks guys for the info my action is a M38 military .The first round from the right feels perfect the next round feeds into the barrel face at 3:00 jamming the action are the rails not wide enough. SLIPP

My Swede military feeds 160s just fine. And very accurate, too.

No modes required.

Should be nothing wrong with rail width in standard Swede actions.
Might be a follower issue.
