Here is the start of my 6.8 project

-18" noveske 6.8 barrel
-vltor mur upper
-13" troy alpha rail with flip up sights

Shout out to chris at armtac for the barrel + upper receiver.

Still need to find a muzzle device and a 1-4 or 1-8 optic, and some magazines.

UPDATE: Finished!

Ya I really hope someday this rifle is free to go out to the bush in canada. I plan to take this to the US though.

my main reasons for the build was to have a >16" barrel to take to the states, and a platform for me to reload with.

I have 200 brand new SSA brass staring at me waiting to be loaded :)

1 in 12" twist,

noveske's own SPC MOD 1 Chamber (.100 freebore) which is equivalent to the spec2

Tell me more about the MOD 1 Chamber and the smith that did the work.

I have a 23" 1-10" twist saami spec chamber 6.8SPC T/C Contender carbine barrel that I would like to shorten to 19" - 20" and get an improved chamber.

Added a harris bipod with a larue adapter, it adds a little too much weight for my liking but it is super easy to get on and off.

Also threw on a leupold mark4 6.5-20 that I had sitting around. Way to much scope for this rifle but it sure looks pretty.

Finished!

Added a Swarovski Z6i 1-6 BRT-I illuminated scope. Field of view is ridiculous, really liking this optic.

Using failzero bolt carrier with a LWRC 6.8 Advanced Combat Bolt.

Also a ATRS flash hider which I am liking as well.

Took this setup through a 6 day haley strategic course and it ran like a dream. Only change was ditching the ####y PRI mags for the 30 round Barret magazines.

Didn't have a single failure in about 1600ish rounds.

I haven't put much though into it, but the rifle was sooo much cooler (temperature wise) than all the 5.56 rifles. Must be something with the cartridge that causes it not to generate as much heat. (my guess is 6.8spc is designed for 16" barrel, where im running at 18, and 5.56 was for a 20" and most people are running 14.5-16)
