6.8 SPC any hunt with one?

Had ASI build me a custom Ruger ranch back when for a calling rig and some deer and killed a few coyotes and one doe at 220. Was ok, the gun had a first round poi difference from rest of group so I sent down the line as it was just enough to push me back into bolt actions. The bullets a bit too deer only size game and just a little too little powder. Once 6.5 Grendel with 123’s came along that was it, completely different level above and pinnacle of AR length cartridges, enough bullet and powder for class 3 size game to boot. Went 6 years straight with it and it’s been stellar. Skip the 6.8. Grab a 6.5 Grendel or 6 Grendel....some call the 6 Grendel the 6 Arc for some silly reason.

I have a 14” contender brl that I shot deer around 175y using the nosler 110g accrabonds. Was raking shot that broke many ribs and a lot damage, in end front half deer was garbage

I shot a couple deer with a 6.8 SPC in a Ruger M77 Compact a few years back, worked great, but I had a couple other rifles that would do the same and more, and the kids jumped straight to 6.5 and 7mm rifles, so I sold it off.

Back in the early mid 2000s before the dreaded ban, I shot a number of deer and bears using a 6.8 SPC. It is absolutely the best sub 200 yard medium game calibre I have ever used. Unfortunately my favourite projectile, the Remington core lokt ultra 115. Grain is no longer available.
