Anyone out there loading for the 6.8SPC?
I'm looking for data for the spec 2 chamber. Both my manuals only have data for the standard chamber. Is there enough difference that you can actually load hotter or does everyone just load standard loads as per the manual.

Please don't tell me to check 6.8forums as I've already looked there and don't really trust most of the info I get off US forums. Most of those guys only seem to care about getting the maximum velocity possible and not much else matters.

Thanks

What powders/bullet weight are you using? H322 or RL-10 work good , AA2200 works the best depending on bullet weight, most of info on 6.8forums has worked well for me with the specII chamber.

bolt action or semi?

send a email to sierra, they sent me the pdf file for both bolt and semi auto........

I'll be loading for a match chamber in a bolt action and I'll be starting all over on this one........

Loading for my semi auto Bushmaster ACR conversion barrel.
So far I loaded some 90gr Sierra Varmint bullets and some 115gr FMJ Remington bullets using my books and the closest bullets I could find and figured since the loads are for SAAMI chamber I would have a little wiggle room with the Spec II chamber.

I'm using H322 for powda.

Thanks

My best load for 90 's was with AA2200/30.5 grains at +2900fps into about 1.5 inches. And no , I didn't shoot 10 - 10 shot groups as my rifle goes hunting and predator shooting! . I have not shot 115 grain bullets much. Shoot a lot of Hornady 110's for practice and "Plinking" over RL-7 cause I have a bunch. Have tried a lot of bullets in this caliber, 95TSX's, 100&110Accubonds, 110 V-max's, Hornady 110 Spire point, Sierra 90 TNT's and have settled on either 95TSX,s or 100 Accubonds over AA2200 for hunting. I use mostly AA2200 for serious loads as it seems to give best speed but if all I could get is H-322 wouldn't worry about it. I have tried AA2200, H-322, RL-10 and RL-7 and all work well with AA2200 having slight edge over H-322/RL-10 for speed. Plus AA2200 is a ball powder so it speeds up reloading quite a bit.

Should add with Spec II chamber you can seat bullets out quite a bit, try a couple out to mag length and see if they chamber alright. Some bullets shoot better seated out a bit.

Both bullets I loaded up I loaded pretty close to max length that would fit in the mags, both drop into the chamber freely without the bullet engaging the lands. I also used a factory crimp on all rounds.
As soon as my bolt shows up I'll be out testing :)
