Impressed with my XCR. I'm not saying it's the an uber-accurate semi, but I sure as heck will be using it for deer now.

Now up to about 300 rounds and I'm finding the accuracy increasing. This is one of the targets I shot today. I have the gun sighted at 2 inches high. Yes the hit point is below... because my buddy hung the targets all upside down... I scanned it this way so people could read it. So actually it's right where I want it at 2 inches high. I was shooting the "cheap" Remington Express Rifle stuff, marked MC R68R2 FMJ's. I'm going to try with some Match stuff later. Here is the image.....

The gun is the newer model with the better trigger and whatever upgrades happened. I have the stock adapter with a Rock River Arms "Operator" stock I think... an Ergo Grip and the scope I use is a cheap Leupold VX-1 2-7x33mm. I have a 1.5 to 4.5 Monarch I will be putting on later I think. I use this for sighting in for the higher magnification... But then maybe I won't change it. Seems to be centered nice where I want it... why start over... We'll see, I've never been a Leupold fan. Harris bi-pod with ARMS adapter/mount, which is what I shot with from the hood. I wish I had a proper bench.

Here's the only photo of the gun I have now.... My wife was out shooting with me today.

Yeah so, overall, fairly impressed and a good day to be had on the Tundra shooting about 100 rounds. Hope this answers some guys questions about the 6.8 SPC.

You may Party On. :ar15:

Great shooting ...
apparently,
from what I've heard,
the Factory Remington 6.8 SPC ammo is NOT all that great for accuracy.
Supposedly the SSA [ ?unobtainium in Canada? ] ammo is much better.

I am getting about 2 1/2"" @ 100 yds out of my RRA AR 15 in 6.8 SPC,
[although three out of five were into about 3/4" ]
using the same Rem 115 Gr FMJ ammo and a 1 - 5X HAKKO red dot/illuminated scope.

The Hakko "dot in a circle" reticle is pretty coarse for best slow fire accuracy,
even at 100 yds, but the dot in a circle reticle is very nice for fast shooting. I personally would need a better/bigger scope and a bipod to see what the rifle and ammo are really capable of.

I also noticed that the recoil of the 6.8 SPC is significantly harder than the 5.56 55/62 gr bullets I was shooting out of my LMT ,
but still no where near the 7.62 NATO loads and the 180 GR .308 SP hunting ammo I was shooting in my AR 10.

Wow nice group !!

I hope mine groups as good or better than that after ATRS is done with it.

Based on your photo i think you need to edit your original post from "Impressed with my XCR." to "Impressed with my WIFE'S XCR", looks to me like she has adopted that rifle by the way she is holding it :)

Do you have much luck getting a cheek weld while sighting through your scope with that stock ?

Cheek weld is perfect. The 2-7 clears by about 3 millimeters, so it's real low, and being it's a 33mm, that was one of the reasons I picked it. On this rifle I wouldn't go with anything with a 40mm bell or higher if I could help it. I have a few high magnification scopes, but the 2-7 was as high as I could go on this rifle to keep a cheek weld. I still can't believe I paid this much for Leupold though. I'f go back to Nikon, Burris or Bushnell for a replacement.
