6.8mm spc Ruger ranch rifle

Mini-14's aren't known for their accuracy. The 6.8 will take deer though. If you opt for that cartridge, buy at least 500 cases too. It's new and there's no telling if it'll be around 5 years from now.

Methinks If the military takes it on as a new caliber then you will see more of it around for a while.

IMHO it's about time they moved away from that .223 varmint cartridge.

Actually its based on the .25, .30 and .32 Remington cartridges. The .35 Rem has a larger base diameter.

I've been hoping that if ther case manufacturers begin producing 6.8 cases, they may do a few runs of the .25, .30 and .32, resurrecting many still serviceable old rifles.

"...and bullets..." Bullets are the easy part. It uses .270 cal bullets.
"...they may do..." Don't count on it. The one has nothing to do with the other. Epp's lists the .30 and .32 Remington brass. Midway, Stateside, lists the .25, but it's made by a couple of small companies and they can't export brass. Epp's might have it or be able to get it. They tend to have a lot of obscure stuff.

I spoke with Wes at Ellwood Epps two weeks ago. He told me they were stocking 6.8SPC. I can't recall exactly about factory ammo, but I believe he said they had it.

Andrew Higgenson confirmed they carry brass and projectiles.
