Just sitting here wondering what I'd chamber various rifles in if I had some money begging to be spent. It occurred to me that now that we have a few choices in 7.62X39 AR-15's, is it time to revisit the idea of a PPC powered AR? What put me on this train of thought is the 5.45X39. As in why does it appear there is no interest in this round now with the 0.441" bolt face AR-15 being much more common. After a little research it appears Ball ammo isn't all that impressive, and I almost dismissed the idea until...I looked at the 22/6 PPC. What is important is the COL, it looks like you could load 80 gr VLD's in a 22 PPC and not have to loose space in the case as it's still well under 2.26". If a 22 PPC could be very good a 6 PPC should be that much better.
What do you think, does it make sense to chamber an AR in one of these cartridges? Arguably one of (if not) the most accurate cartridges available mated to a very accurate platform, what's not to like?
