Just found this in the magazine.

A left over from the days when I was experimenting with powder designs.

This is 4895 short cut. I wanted a powder that would measure better for match ammo loaded in a Dillon.

Because there is a stack of drums. The powder is in a heavy duty plastic bag so it does not dry out or get wet.

There is no sale. I sold off the surplus drums a few months ago when guys were hurting for powder.

If you came by with an empty jug, looking to score some powder, you would not be the first. At one time I supplied quite a few shooters with IMR and Bofors powders. But now that I have to buy powder, I am not reducing my inventory any more.

It is certainly entertaining to see 60 pounders of powder. I had no idea they existed in this form. (I am proud to have scored 8 lbs of 4895 recently!).

Seriously though Ganderite, I would like to know more about your history and how you came to have stocks of powder.

I was the Technical Director of a small ammo company making ammo for military, police forces and target shooters.

I also did some consulting work with various ammo and rifle manufacturers. This particular drum of powder was part of an experiment. That is why it is called 4896. It was a modification of 4895. I did not have to pay for the experimental powders.
