Good lord. Theres a good reason you can't find data for 600grain bullets for the 45/70. To my knowledge there isen't any!! I've loaded up to 560grain hardcast to 1500fps but 600grains.. I've never seen data anywhere for that weight, a guy would have to be very carfeull as he would be sailing into uncharded waters, preasure wise.

If I were you I would just buy some Jae Bok Young, 'Craters' that are heavy enough for anything you'll ever want with the real baseball trajectory to match. Good accuate bullet with safe pressure tested data avalible. http://www.competitor-pistol.com/jb bullets.html

Be safe and happy shooting.

"...using a Marlin lever..." A 600 grain bullet would likely be too long for a Marlin. 600 grain bullets are usually for .458 Win Mags, et al.

I agree, I think those Game Rangers will be a touch long, and if you seat them deep to stay within the OAL needed to function through the Marlin, I can't remember if there is a second forward cannular you can crimp to.

A starting load would be about 34 grs of 3031.
