64th ANNUAL VICTORIA DAY MATCHES

Victoria Day match scoring is up on the ORA website as a .pdf. Don't have the team results or who shot on the teams. Some of the yardages were lumped together and individual day aggs are missing. But the majority of the results are posted...

I hear you guys had very good weather... damn!

Also noticed some new faces in the results which is always nice and nicer still it appears some of them can shoot!

congrats to the winners...

I heard Gord has scope issues. If he left the rifle uncased and bunked with Norm... well the vibrations alone from the snoring woulda knocked the crosshairs all over the place!

Thought I'd post here regarding the NF NXS situation last Sat.
Items of note
1 : I usually travel with a backup to matches. As I wanted to travel lite this time,I got caught in my own failure to follow my own rules.
Thanks to Norm who allowed me the use of his 2nd rifle on
Sunday and I was able to at least shoot 2 matches and participate in the team shoot.
Having backups does not mean having an entire rifle ,but at least a secondary zero'd scope that you can swap out can save yer butt.
2: LR shooting, I find a very boring spectator sport when not participating and sleeping
on the range can leave you with ants in yer pants (and hair)
3: The scope issue was "Shooter dumbass error" and NOT a scope failure!
------------------------------------------------------
I crawled to the range today to checkover scope tracking. What was found that in changing scope set up over winter caused a 300 zero at less than 1 moa to "bottom out"
(was 3 moa in past set up and previous barrel)
Add to this set screws that were not tight ENOUGH created a monster of my own making and caused me to loose the opportunity to participate .
I want to stress that this is NOT a scope failure at ALL and I continue to believe the NF NXS is a great series of scopes.
I do suggest when calculating moa rails for LR that consideration be given to allow sufficient "bottom end" for windage etc.

4: I got even with NORM!!!!! Deciding that cadet barracks were just not right for us,we split on a hotel room.I purchased quality 24db soft ear plugs and made a point of falling asleep BEFORE Norm.HA!!!! I kept him awake with MY snoring, although amateurish in comparison to Norm's volume and rasp.

I add my congratulations to all match and aggregate winners and woud add special congrats to Barry P for his aggregate wins and great shooting. Sorry the F Class Open winners were somehow overlooked when final recognitions were given out. There were
some new faces there this year and ever growing numbers of F Class (FTR in particular)
Serge mentioned I beleive that this was the highest total attendance ever.
Hope to see you all back at the Eastern Regionals.
Gord
