$650 budget for a semiauto shotgun

As you've began to look at pump guns I would like to suggest you look at the winchester SXP line up. I have one and have to say its impressed me enough that I would pick it over all 870's except wingmasters.

SXP-1300-1200 models.. they may be alright, but the plastic inserts that keep the mag tube in place will wear out and fail eventually. If they hadn't designed it to be so cheap then I would get one cause I like the rotating bolt and forward safety button concept. Remember, this design replaced the venerable Model 12!

I'll stick with my Mossberg 500 and Remington Wingmaster.

agreed to the weatherby.. ive been shootin it for 4 years and hasnt failed me yet.. just dont lose your compression rings... pricy to replace.

I personally have had Stoeger M2000. The difference with M3500 is that M3500 takes 3 1/2" shells and M2000 up to 3" shells.

Stoeger is owned by Beretta / Benelli concern and implement the same Benelli recoil system as in Benelli guns but are assembled in Turkey instead of Italy. Mine performed very well with all hunting loads. Not so much with lighter target loads with occasional jams.

If you are going to use it for hunting, it's perfect.

Can be found for under $500. BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! ;)

I just received my Weatherby SA-08 on Friday. Very basic features with a simple design. I for one think simpler is better. No fancy bells or whistles but it seems solid. For the Price of the gun it is very well put together.
