So i just bought this new S&W 686-6 International. Beautiful gun, shoots like a dream. But my question is, what the hell is it? What is the idea of the International Designation, is it just fancy logos and wood grips or is there more meaning to it?

I was looking at the 686 "Target Champion" and it was a beautiful revolver.Polished frame,great wood target grips but only in Europe.Looked at one over here and it was one of the fuglyist pistols I've ever seen.Bead blasted with a black plastic looking grip WTF!https://www.google.ca/search?q=686+...gnum.dk%2Findex.asp%3Fget%3Dgalleri;1280;1024

All the -6 series Smith now have black screws, hammers, triggers and cylinder releases.

Any chance that comes in a 4.2" as well? It looks gorgeous but barrel is longer than I want.

I am sure I read somewhere that the international is supposed to have a target trigger, sear, etc...in addition to the unfluted bead blasted cylinder.

It is possible, the first time i pulled the trigger i damn near ruined my jeans it was so nice.

Beautiful revolver. I wish they made more models with the bead blast and the unfluted cylinder.

edit: According to Williams Arms it has a target Trigger and Hammer.

I have been eyeing it but I'd like a shorter barrel.

Ah poop. It's a beaut but want something shorter. Too bad because price isn't bad considering.
