686 cylinder swap

If I wanted to switch a s&w 686 from a 7 shot to a 6 shot, what parts would be necessary?

wow, I think you would find more cost effective to sell it and purchase a new 6 shot 686

that is definatly a gunsmith job and good luck finding a spare cylinder, BUT if you do want to do it I amsure MD Charleton would be the people to talk to.

X2. If you want a 6 shot, buying is best.

Cylinder replacement would be only the first step, not to mention the guts to change the timing.

Just curious but why would you want to swap out the 7 shot cylinder for a 6 shot? I have the 7 shot and love it.

CDP rules limit to 6 shot. I haven't purchased a 7shot but there are some slick 686's with 5" barrels around. Just wondered if it would be feasable.
