686 finish?

I just got my barely use s&w 686( less then 100 round) i was wondering it was normal the bluing on the barrel side of the cylinder? And if the rear site is suppose to be loose?

It's a stainless gun, no blueing on the side of the cylinder. I assume from your pictures you are referring to the lead rings around the throat holes on the front of the cylinder. This is normal. As to the "loose" rear sight, define loose. They do move a little, but not much. Keep in mind it's adjustable, and therefore has to move some to work. - dan

Thats what i ment on the throat holes. Its loose enouf i can rattle it by shaking the gun.
 
I have same gun, and the video is correct, works good.
Even after 50 rounds, the stainless finish gets dirty real fast, that's the price you pay for a great gun!
