686 revolver

Does anyone know if 5'' barrel 686 revolvers are available from SW ?
I'm looking to get a .357 revolver in that barrel length.

According to Gun Digest 2006
S&W 686 is available in 2 1/2", 4" or 6".
If you really want 5" you will have to get a 6" cut down to 5". don't know the cost, but I would imagine it ain't cheap.

I have one in my collection. Has a 5in. full lug barrel and an unfluted cylinder. It's all factory and never been fired.

No 686's in current production with 5" barrels.

There is the S&W Performance Center 627 8 shot. SKU: 170210
It is a large frame format (same physical size as the S&W 629 44 Mag) instead of the medium frame that the 686 is based on. I like it a lot with all sorts of .357 loads and .38 Special. My wife really only likes shooting .38 Special with it, although, if pressed, she will fire off a load of .357's.

I have a 5" 686 in my collection. It has a half lug bull barrel , 7 shots, F/O front sight and with wood grips. It is very nice looking and shoots well.
