I have a few....but do you currently cast for other rifle calibers? .22 is one of the least forgiving calibers to cast for and you may get frustrated quickly.

Also, what are you trying to accomplish? That will have a large beaing on mould selection. HUGE amount of info over at castboolits.gunloads.com

.223 mould

I use a Lyman 225415 mould.
I had it hollow pointed by " Buckshot " of castboolit fame, and it produces great boolits for varmit shooting.
I keep the velocity under 2000 fps and accuracy is good in my C Z 527.
 
I was told, the reason there is so few companies making 224 dia bullet molds, is because of lead build up from being driven to fast. So people stop buying them. Hence the majority stop making them.

thats another old wives tale, however, casting and loading .22 cal boolits is more difficult than larger calibers. There are a few group buys going on for Ar-15 compatable boolits on the Cast Boolits forum presently.
 
From my experience casting, the small volume of lead in a .22 caliber mould is harder to consistantly form. For a variety of reasons.

I think head pressure from the flowing lead into the mould cavity is fairly low in comparison to a .358, or .458 diameter bullet.

Alloy consistancy plays a big role in a moulds ability to fill out.
Tin added to lead alloys, reduces surface tension and improves its flow characteristics.

Note: I said harder to cast, not impossible.
Some casters do it flawlessly.

Small caliber cast shooting is fun, but I find it harder to identify/see lead deposits.
If you cant see it, you may not clean it all out.
Shooting will suffer from that I assure you.

The smallest diameter I tend to shoot cast boolets in is .284".

But presently am concentrating on .308,.358,.458" diameters.

Buckshot machined my lyman mould; for a very reasonable price.

Yes it can be done but they need to be hard. When I dabbled in this, it was with a mini 14 in the days when 30 and 40 round mags wern't so evil and I was casting with linotype, sterotype and monotype. The time it took and with the addition of a gascheck I figured it wasn't worth it when a 100 .224 FMJ's were going for $5.
