I have R15, Varget, and H4895 to try - 23-26gr? Any suggestions on jump? will prob start at 20 and go from there....

The 69 grain Scenrs I used in my fast twist match rifles worked great closer to than further away from the lands, .010 or closer except for one, and that was about .025 off.

Thanks Cat, that's good to know.

I've got a box of the Scenar-L 69 gr to try in a 223 in the New Year.

I'll start them close to the lands and work my way out if I need to.

I started developing a load a few weeks ago. So far, around 23.8-24.2 gr of N140 seems to work well. I'm going to refine that a bit more.

I started at 5 thou off the lands, and don't see much reason to change that, they group well.

1 in 8 twist Tikka T3x Varmint, 24" heavy barrel.

Anyone else try the 69GR Lapua Scenar Ls? I'm new to reloading and thought I would be safe between 24-26gr or Varget, based on Hodgdon website showing it is ok for 69gr SMK and 2.24 OAL... but then I noticed that on the Vihtavuori guide that they show that the 69 SMK has a lot more powder than the Lapua Scenar L.. like 1.2 grains more of N140. Basically concluded that the bullet length must be different between the SMK and Scenar.

Any ideas if I'm safe to try 69gr Lapua Scenar L, 23.8-25.0 varget, 2.24 OAL / 0.02 off the lands in a 223 Wylde barrel?
