6BR and H4895

I was reading on 6BR that some guys are saying it is better than Varget with the heavies. Supposedly cleaner too.

KDX, does the 6BR sight list some loads with 4895?
If so, go ahead and try them.
You will soon know if it is suitable for your needs or not.
Good luck! Eagleye.

I was going to buy a pound to try today but just got some more Varget instead. Might as well stay with something that's tried and true.

105gr A-Max Hornady 29.0 H4895 CCI BR4 2840fps
H4895 is very accurate, low ES/SD. Kyle Brown used a hotter version of this load to set his 1K record group.

105gr BT Match Berger 29.5 H4895 CCI BR4 2880fps
J. Schmidt's recommended "moderate" accuracy load for factory actions. Very accurate and consistent. 1/4 MOA 25-shot Agg at 200.

This is part of what I read that got me asking the question.

H4895 is a great powder for the 6BR using 90 grain Lapua bullets. I found the recommendation on the 6BR.com website. My pet load is 28.5 gr. H4895, CCI 450 and 2.228 OAL. Shoots well with CCI 400 also. At 79 years of age, the load is more accurate than I can shoot, giving 3 shot groups under 1/4 inch and 5 shot groups under 3/8 inch at 100 yds.

Yes, more accurate than Varget in both of my 6mmBR's. 29.3/105Hyb/450/lapua brass was my go-to load. Switched to Varget when H4895 was unobtanium for the last couple years.

Forgot to mentioned that I shot my best group in my entire life with 29.7 of N150, grouping .12” basically all 5 shots on one hole, , usual ave group is around on low.18” although the velocity is only on the 2750s, good enough for 300 yards can even stretch to 500 and still Supersonic , Bergers 108 Target,26” KS Barrel
