6BR Vs 6.5 X 47L?

I would not knowingly accept a score change if I had to pretend I would have hit the ring if I was shooting a different rifle. Phooey. If I want to score as an 8mm, I'll shoot an 8mm, not a 6.
I know, I know, that's the rule! I just think it's a stupid rule. In the end, I win or lose because I'm shooting well or I'm not and I would just as soon have my shots scored as they hit and not pretend they hit a ring when they didn't.
With this in mind though, I would definitely go with the 6mm. It shoots better. It shoots cheaper. It's easier to shoot and on the target, you can pretend it's a big gun without having to actually shoot one. Regards, Bill.

Regarding cost, Lapua's 6.5 139s are $3.00 less expensive than 6mm 105 grainers. Of course you burn a bit more powder and brass is more expensive.

The 6.5X 47 Lapua is gaining a following, especially in the US; see 6mmBR forum.

Ian, will let you know how new 26" 6mmBR works in a few months.
