6mm AI

We are waiting on my 244Rem AI die right now, I have everything else for it.
This is going to be an interesting project, the goal is to get a 105 grain match bullet running about 3,100FPS for 1K shooting.
it may work, it may nor, in any event it will be fun!

I have the std, 6mm Remington, a change of powder to R26 from R19 and 4381, picked up well over a 100fps on all bullet weights, I use in it, 85-100gr.
very happy with this rifle.

This is a powder I would like to try. If it is ever available again.

My usual load 100gr Speer grand slam 45gr 4831. Groups good for the old No1. 3125fps. 26" barrel.

What's the twist rate going to be for it?

I have a like new Clymer .244 Remington A.I. reamer I will sell. It has the throating ground down so it cuts no throat. Throat separately to what ever length you want.

$75 mailed to you.

I could exceed 3100 with the 108 Sierra so you should be good. Of course, I was getting 2975 with the 6BRX. I can't help but think the pressure was a little high though. There are some new powders which will really shine with the large capacity and I think you should be able to push 3200 pretty hard.

Yeah I was looking at some of the slower Alliant powders and was pretty impressed!

I have a 6mmRem in a Rem 700. Great cartridge and my rig is very accurate. Never had the urge to AI this rig as it was already fast and accurate. I have lost count of the big game I have taken with this rifle. More than 200 at this point. I have used the same rifle for a pile of coyote and fox back when the hides had value. My buddy came up with a great hollow point load that would open fast and rarely exit leaving a clean hide for fleshing and stretching. I often used it for harvesting pheasant and sharpies at a distance by knocking the heads clean off and making perfect roasters.

One of my buddies gave his 6mm the AI treatment. Great rifle but I honestly can't say it is any better as an AI.

Pretty Much the same Performance but the 240 WBEE is Kooler and you have properly head stamped brass . jmo RJ

And you can be stuck with and pay through the nose for WBY brass. If it's a status thing ,build a .244H+H Magnum but then you would still have a .375 H+H headstamp

6mm-06 is another idea. Have a pile of 25-06 brass. I don't care about head stamps. A pile of 264 say 7mm.. 7mm-08 say 308.

Anyone have a reamer?
