A friend of mine approached me the other day with a question regarding 6MM Remington factory ammo. His father has a gun chambered in this caliber and is looking to get his hands on 100 gr. factory stuff. He has access to 80 gr. but would prefer to have the 100. He cannot find the 100 gr. anywhere near Port Hawkesbury, NS where he lives.

Checking the Winchester site, I see they only have the 100 gr. listed.

So if any of you folks run into any 100 gr. 6MM Remington in your travels, let me know and I will try to arrange something. Thanx.

The rifling twist will determine whether or not your buddy's rifle will shoot heavier bullets well or not. 1 in 10 or faster will be ok. Even with 80 grain bullets and assuming he's wanting to hunt deer, tell him to make sure they're made for deer and not varmints. Varmint bullets are made to expand rapidly upon impact and aren't suitable for deer. 100 grains or heavier are usually made for deer though. 80 grain bullets can go either way.

For sure Sunray. He has always used the 100 gr on deer in the past but was just having trouble finding them this time around. I was able to get several boxes for him which'll likely last him many, many deer seasons.
