Picked up some 55gr nosler ballistic tips. Anyone have any experience with the 55's in the 6mm Remington. Seems like a pretty short projectile for 6mm. Care to share any recipes..

I have a load for the 55gr NBTs with 45grs of H4895. I have never really used them for much more than paper as the POI is about 4" different at 100yds than the 69gr Bergers I have loaded with Superformance powder.

I would think that it depends on your gun.
Early 244Rem (6mm Rem) were designed arround light weights and didn't shoot 90+ grain bullets very well. Once this was realized by shooters the round became labeled inaccurate and fell into disfavor. It was latter realeased under a new name (6mm Rem) and new faster twist rate barrels that would handle the heavier bullets were made standard in rifles chambered for the round.

It's a Sako aIII action with a barrel that has a 1:11.5 twist the heavy stuff doesn't shoot well at all in it. Thanks for the load info my main purpose is for yotes. Tried the 75's and they where ok but I'm thinking the 55's will be even better.

We use these bullets in our .243 with great success.
Of course the coyotes, including a nice male 30 minutes ago, might disagree.
We had good performance with 75 gr Vmax but I also had some of these 55 Ballistic tips around and we loaded them up for gophers for our trip to Alberta last summer. They performed very well.
