I finally finished load development on the 6mmbr that I purchased off of the EE from Guntech. It's built on a 700 short action, that Guntech worked over, and installed a 26" Gaillard 1 in 8-1/2" twist barrel on. The barreled action was bedded into an ADL stock, and it has a single shot follower installed. So far my best five shot group at 100 yards measured .260" with the average in the mid .3"s. I mounted a 6-24x42 Sightron scope on Leupold mounts, to further keep the overall cost down. It's the kind of precision rifle that many people were shooting, when I began shooting over 40 years ago. The finish that he put on the barrel has attracted a fair bit of attention as well. I should add that I am shooting the 95gr Matchking ahead of Varget for a muzzle velocity of 2930fps, as my load was chosen for shooting out to 600 yards rather than finding the most accurate load at 100 yards or 200 yards. I am quite pleased with the rifle, especially considering the relatively low overall investment.

Looks good, and performs better. What's not to like? Kind of like a street sleeper.

I have a good shooting friend with a Savage actioned rifle in the exact same chambering. We had to convince him to attend an informal rifle shoot where we get to shoot at up 1050 yards on targets. He and his rifle performed very well with less time and ammunition getting dialed onto distant targets than many others.
I have alot of respect for the mighty 6mmbr.

Ahhhh the good old days , everything is so plastic now lol.

Last night I played around with my 6br at 685 yds I hadn't shot it since last year and managed to get some groups around 2 inches and less with the wife and kids in a hurry to leave.

6br's are a great little round to shoot .

Whats are your thoughts on that Sightron? Ive never been able to look through one but guys seem to like them?

I have two (Big Sky and an SIII) and really like them. I've never looked through a Night Force, but don't have the coin for one either. Sounds like a lot of regular folk use them in competition so I think that says something for them.
