If an action is from a 22ppc/6ppc can it be made into a 22-250?
I am away and don't have my cartridge books with me, so am not sure of the cartridge dimensions.
Basically I guess it comes down to whether or not the magazine box is long enough to accomodate the cartridge.

The boltface counterbore will likely be the wrong size. PPC head diameter is smaller than that of a .22-250.

To build a PPC it takes a 'special' size of action because of the weird case head size. If it has a magazine it would also require alteration... a lot of wasted money to convert from PPC to 22-250.

Wasn't sure, I have a chance to get a Sako 22ppc action.
I have a bunch of 22-250 ammo lying around, but it sounds like it would be too much trouble to work with.

Why bother when a 22 PPC will shoot almost as fast as a 22-250.

Yes... not sure you gain a huge amount of performance with a 22/250 for varmints ... although cheaper, available brass is a very attractive benefit of a 22/250

I have a Nesika model C started life as a 6PPC the bolt face was opened up enough for the 6BR (now a Dasher). Switch barrel handles both 6PPC & Dasher. So yes it can be done.
enjoy

The PPC's case is 1.505" long with a rebated rim of .445". The .22-250's is 1.912" long with a head diameter of .473".
Cartridge dimensions be here. No W's. stevespages.com/page8d.htm
The 6PPC and 6mm Dasher have little to do with rebarreling to .22-250.
