It is coming up on a year since we held our last Double Gun Classic (5th). I wish we could be setting a date for the 6th, but as of late, Covid-19 is making our world pretty crazy. When life returns to normal we'll definitely plan to get together and enjoy the day. In the interim, for anyone who hasn't attended in the past and would like to attend, please send me a PM with your name and email address and I'll add you to the list.

Wishing you & your families the best of health.

1) 2015 Best Gun Award - canvasback
2) 2016 Best Gun Award - CJO
3) 2017 Best Gun Award - Mark Dube
4) 2018 Best Gun Award - Londonshooter
5) 2019 Best Gun Award - Pinfire
6) 2020 Best Gun Award - ?

Not to be picky but slight correction there Patrick. The 2016 award went to CJO.

Much as I would like to have a date set, my son's mother has Covid19 and they are both in quarantine. My own opinion is that things are going to look decidedly worse in Ontario in 30 days. When my son and my ex left Spain 10 days ago, the officials there knew 2000 people had it. Today it's 40,000 people and 450 of them died yesterday. And Spain had the example of Italy and China to learn a bit from.

My fingers are crossed that this subsides by the summer, but I tend to agree with Canvasback...we are on the up swing. Between the one million Canadians who just returned from areas where the infection rates could be higher, and the substantial percentage of people thinking this is a joke, the numbers are gonna go up first. I hope the hospitals don’t buckle like in Italy.

Regardless, I’d like to see everyone again...

Here's wishing everyone to stay safe, stay in good health, and to those going through this serious ordeal, a very speedy recovery.

I hope it will be possible to have the 6th Annual Double Gun Classic some time this year, I'll definitely try to attend. But more important is everyone's health, and those around us. My European friends remind me this is no small matter, and it is hard to see when this will end - but I remain ever hopeful.

But in case the Classic is delayed significantly, I've chosen to bore you all to tears about pinfires from a safe distance, through the SxS picture thread.

Oshawa Clay and Target Club is now closed until at least April 3rd. I guess for the time being, Im going to have to practice trigger control on my impact driver. ####ty times ahead...

Here is hoping that when this is over the good times will return in abundance and we all gain an appreciation for the important things in life like family, friends, laughter. Oh and nice shotguns too ;)

Certainly looking forward to the get-together whenever it’s safe again for the group.
Patrick I’ve joined the Oshawa club now so if I can be of any assistance let me know.
Of course when they reopen....
One suggestion, perhaps we can include rounds of 5-stand as well as skeet??
The full sporting clays course would be amazing too with a bunch of sxs’s!
Though admittedly it takes a while to shoot and may be a little tough to coordinate with the day....unless maybe a shoot of whoever wanted to join went out later in the day at the 2pm cut off...

Anyways here’s to battening down the hatches and weathering this storm.
Hope to see all the wonderful guns soon!

ParksPipes, you have been quietly lurking all this time? Good to hear from you.

Yah I suppose I’m shy John!
Poke around, lots to read and see, but not much of a contributor really.
Lots of fantastic posts in the show_us_your_sxs thread.
Had my Greener cleaned up and will have to snap some pics to add.
Beyond that only dreams...
Anyways dreaming now especially of getting back out to the clays and smashing some :)

Look forward to the DoubleGunClassic whenever it happens!

Something in another thread reminded me of this so here is a quick update and call for suggestions.

Oshawa is now open but strictly for members and with a limited maximum group size of 4. So for the foreseeable future, that rules out Oshawa as a viable locale. Of course if and when that changes, we will be on top of it as that location has worked well for us in the past.

If anyone has any bright ideas/knowledge of other locations where the event may be held (with suitable and safe protocols in place) please let us know.

Its a far drive for most of you guys but my club offers 2 skeet fields and enough outdoor room for tanles and social distancing. Its in blenhiem about 10km off the 401
