I just got a Remington SA 700 in 6mm on a .223 case. I am thinking this would be good for coyotes and wolves and the odd sheet of paper or gopher. Anyone have any experience with this rifle or cartridge. Hands on, as I have read the reviews already. It sure is a sweet little rifle and very tiny. Don't know about the accuracy yet, but we'll see soon enough.

I've not used the 6x45, but I've played a fair bit with the 6x47 (putting another one together this winter). Mine were always startingly accurate, but brass was getting tough to find (not so much anymore with the 204 Ruger on the scene). That would be a huge advantage to the 6x45, and ballistically i don't think you would lose much. Mine were all set up for 75-90 gr bullets, not the heavy weight VLDs so common now, but with 87 gr spitzers they were deadly on coyotes, fox, and a couple of wolves. - dan

I've always kindda wanted a 6mm-223. Ballistics similar to a PPC, and was reportedly used by the benchrest fraternity for a time. With the new ultra-lightweight 6mm bullets, it should outperform the parent 223 easily. The 55gr 6mm's have a greater BC than the 55gr .224's, and with a greater cross-sectional area and shorter bearing surface, it should be possible to drive a 55gr 6mm out of a 223 case somewhat faster than you could a 55gr .224" (pressures being kept equal)
