I've been working on this caliber for awhile and finally settled on VV-N560 powder. Lapua brass, and various bullets in the 105gr range. I have a lot of 22-250 brass, so I've worked on reforming this, more for practice rounds, and found there is no difference using this brass (win) with a br primer. It takes a little more time to form the brass, but it works well . Cost of this brass is minimal.
This powder VV is great.

Wow, that is amazing because I had the identical experience!!

The cartridge is capable of amazing things, but I nearly gave up on it until I discovered N560. The difference was incredible.... head and shoulders above 4350 and the other powders touted as the ultimate powder! (even VV 160)

It is interesting to hear about your choice of brass. I went Lapua all the way, but the fact you have chosen to go the route you have is very inspiring.

Enjoy!

Nothing wrong with N560. I used it in my 6.5x51 Custom Ackley case to win the 900m Long Range Challenge in '99. It would be my choice in the 6.5X47 Lapua I'll be putting together in the next year or so with Lapua cases. :)

Maybe Ian can get me a nice 6.5 4 groove, 1-8" Krieger for it.

Ian, thanks again for the suggestion on trying N560, it save me a lot of time and work, to find "the load".
I'll be using Lapua brass and Bergers for the serious shooting, but will carry on with the win brass.

I have just gotten my rifle back after re-barreling in a 1:7 twist... we'll see how it works with 115's and also the 105's. I have gotten my hands on some RL-17, so we will give that a try and see what happens!

Humm, the 6x47 is interesting, few questions please
Does this round is the same bolt face than the .308 ??
If so, does this round will feed from AI .308 mag
and from barrel of 22in, is it as accurate as .308 up to 300 yard (don't need more)

Thank's for the help Respectfully

we're talking about the 6mm wildcat off the 6.5X47 Lapua. (6mmhot.com) and in actual fact there are at least 4 different cartridges with the 6.5X47 designation!

It would probably feed from an AI mag; I suspect a conical breech would help though as this is another Delta-L cartridge, Yes, it is the same bolt as a 308. As for accuracy, it is potentially as good or better and with heavy VLD bullets, I would say it is a better long range cartridge. Barrel length is irrelevent to accuracy.

Thank's for your help Obtuned, i think i will stick with .308 then, probably ammo are easyer to find too in .308 and since i'am not expecting shooting more far than 300 yard with this rifle, .308 will be good enough for me.
