Hey Folks:
I'm loading up this winter / spring on my tikka t3 lite stainless for a Wyoming Pronghorn hunt in the fall of 2020.
I haven't dedicated a lot of time to this gun for reloading yet but did find some success with 162 grain SST's over 39.0 grains of 4064. I'm thinking 162 will be too much loss for what I'm trying to accomplish.
For this particular trip I'm looking at running either the Berger VLD in 140 grain or the Nosler Accubond in 140 grain. I hope to keep my hunting shots between 100-400 yards. The guys who have gone before have shot leading upto the hunt at 650 yards and have killed at various yardages (between 200 and 580 yards) on Pronghorn and Mulies.
Any input regarding the bullet options? Any pet loads out there anyone is willing to share? Will 140 grain be enough? 150 grain a better option?
I'm stuck between speed and wind drift for this Western type of hunt.
Any input is appreciated!
