7-300 win mag specs

Mine reaches the lands with the 175 grain LR Accubond at 3.500" and the 180 Berger VLD at 3.465". Others are throated out a bit more to better utilize 3.600+ mag boxes. I'm happy with the throats the way it is, and a 3.700" Sako mag will allow chasing the lands for a lot longer.

My current though likely not finalized loads are 75 grains of H1000 and the 175 LR for 3260 fps and bouncing around 73-74 grains of H1000 or Retumbo and the 180 Berger VLD for right in around 3150 fps. If you don't care much about your brass or you're running one of the longer throat versions you might make it to 76.

27" Hart barrel, Sako 75, McMillan Sako hunter, 4.5-14 x 50mm mark 4.

Last time I typed that round into google there was hundreds of pages that came up. There are guys with 30" barrels shooting 180's to 3250-3350fps without much trouble.

I built one years ago (still have the reamer) and hunted a bit with it using 160 gn Nosler part. As I recall I was getting about 3200 fps from a 24" barrel using IMR 7828 back then...........today I'd be trying RL 25/26...RL 33...Retumbo..........
Because this is not a SAAMI'd cartridge your COAL will be dependent on your particular reamer/throat or possibly your magazine. Anyone else's COAL will be completely irrelevant to you.........you need to find your lands and work from there.
