7.5 or 8 shot for trap?

Real men don't shoot trap at all and shoot skeet or sporting clays LOL
I use 7 1/2 for everything since it is also used in many of the upland loads and keeps it simple when ordering No. 9 and No. 7/12
Real men load # 8 1/2 hard shot and use a 410 . How is your blood pressure doing mac you have been very active on sight lately ?

I honestly shot my last year trap with the 28ga wingmaster and 7 1/2 but just 16yard and just for fun. I would get 17/18 sometimes more :). I hated shooting trap
LOL Blood pressure someone told you did they?? Yep two pills a day and once recorded at 260/160 and looking at the doc they say come from my grandma and nothing else can be done
Real bad with the high 30 degrees and trying to build a greenhouse flopping around a few times today :(

Those wieners don't bother or upset me LOL. Too old for that and have nothing to prove to anyone but helps pass the time when not working
Ya I make assumptions don't you know :)
Yes a gun nut who has a grandpappy with firearms but the gun nut doesn't know what his grandpappy has and I make assumptions that he has no relationship with the grandpappy as far as firearms are concerned
OK :(
Not the relationship I am familiar with that is for sure with my old grandpappy. I knew every gun and pound of powder he had :) He made sure I had his sweet set of model 12's and 21 's etc etc etc :) before he passed and little did he know what they would be worth today but still hear him saying take good care of these they are special and he was right
I will never sell them the daughter can do that when I am gone and put a nice chunk of change on her home

Take care my friend

Wow with BP readings like that you are a walking wonder take care my friend those green houses maybe not worth it. As for trap shooting I have a 80 year old buddy that can runs strings in the hundreds before he misses a target. I asked him what was the secret to his success his answer was a weak mind go figure ?

Yep that is what the lady that first recorded it said but it only spikes not to close to that that the odd time now with the meds normally just over the 170/180 and I know when it is coming so stop everything and get it down and they say it is normal for me WTF
God love my grandmother she said before she passed at 99 and 1/2 .take your two pills a day and never miss them and you will be fine miss them and you may die LOL
Hit her at age 28 so. Me about 55
He is right your mind can cause you to miss more target than anything as you know. Once you start thinking about it might as well put the gun away IMO

Flyer is right about the clays game that is fun none of the boring mechanics of trap and skeet but both of those games have their challenges to get to be good at. If it goes bang it's all good. Good shooting buddies make up half of the fun.

I was recently at a charity trap shoot coaching some new shooters. One guy was missing every target and he turned around and said "I just don't know what I'm doing wrong". I said "well i do" and explained that I could see the muzzle of the gun going up and down a little bit just before he fired and that told me he was looking back and forth from the bead to target before firing. I told him to turn off his brain and focus on the target and he started breaking birds after that. I expect he was an engineer.... those guys have a tough time with shotguns! Lol.

Spent 24 years working in a mechanical engineering dept which is why I think I went through truck rolls of paper patterning my dam skeet guns :( for no benefit

Haha... I should have known you were an engineer 3macs1! I have a bunch of engineer friends and they all struggle with wingshooting, their brains always want to do the math while lining up the shot and it screws them up in a big way! I keep telling them... turn your brain off and just shoot! I guess maybe that's why I love shooting clays as much as I do, my brain doesn't have to do any work!!!!!! :)

Actually a red seal millwright/ mechanical eng tech that was short 5 courses for his peng degree ( just have a diplona) and sadly never finished it before I went into the mines which I regret but I made more money working in the mech eng dept for the mines doing pretty much the same work other than the sr mechanical eng would have to stamp my designs and drawings. They didnot want to go underground and I did and that was where the real money was design it, procure it and then install and maintain it
Material handling systems was my speciality
But yes have that crazy A type personality and mind set of one :)

I've heard for years this is the standard wear for skeet shooters. Do you have one of these 3Macs1  :p

24 yard line 1 1/8 oz 7.5
Pattern density should be acceptable and a bit more energy.
That being said one must shoot faster from the longer yardage I never made it past the 25 yard line it’s a different game back there

It is absolutely amazing the change in that last two yards!! I made it to the 27 in 1999 at the 100th Grand American. After two one yard reductions over the years which I happily accepted I have not been able to get back to the 27 and have been on the 25 yard line since my last reduction around 2004? I did get a 1/2 yard at the 2021 Canadians so am now 25.5.. Plans are to have a made to fit stock from Stock Lock for my TMS this coming season and hopefully that will help propel me to the 27... Next time I won't accept the reduction! LOL

27 yard line? Pfft. My club doesn’t even have one lol. I usually do a few rounds from 16 then try at 25 for the last round. I usually go about 20-21 at the 25. Couldn’t imagine being a registered 27 yard guy.
