Some loading manuals only list loads safe for the 1896 for legal purposes.

New bullet and powder combination tried at the range this morning in my K31. I was having issues from my previous loading (CamPro 147gr FMJ) that I had initially built for my K11 running into the lands on my K31, so I figured I'd change it up a bit

I bought some of the newer CamPro 165gr FCP Spitzer bullets and paired it with some Vihta N150 (46.0gr). I seated them deeper (COL: 2.905" with no crimp) to avoid the loading issues I was having previously. I decided on this COL by lightly placing one of the new bullets in an unloaded case and sending it home in the rifle, then minus ~20 thou. All rounds fed nicely and grouped ~2" at 50 yards shooting off a backpack. 10 shot average velocity 2684.2 feet/second with an ES of 50 feet per second. All in all, I am very happy with this loading
