7.5 Swiss

My post disappeared, will try again...

The Shooting Edge has/had/will have surplus 7.5 Swiss. It's Berdan primed but I'm fairly sure it's non-corrosive. If reloading is an option, 7.5 Swiss brass can be had from Privi/Norma/Grafs and can be sourced from places like BC Redneck, Trade Ex, and Ellwood Epps. A great alternative is to take .284 Win brass and use that. After one resize/trim (I use a Lee case length gauge/cutter) it works just fine. The advantage to .284 Win brass is availability, quality, and cost.

.284 brass costs as much or more than proper 7.5, and doesn't function properly in all rifles. I have seven Schmidt-Rubins, and two of them have weak ejection with reformed .284, and one simply won't eject. Same as making 8mm Lebel from .348. About one in three rifles won't extract them.

Howdy

K31's are great. As far as ammo goes, it's not all that difficult to reload the Berdan primed GP11 cases. I've done it, they work great. And while it is more expensive for Berdan primers, they are easy enough to get. So I keep my Boxer primers for the other calibers I shoot.

I currently have two K31 rifles and I plan on adding another one as soon as TSE's order comes in.

Have bought some surplus and it shoots great.
Just bought a 100 brass from a CGNer here and cannot wait to start reloading for it.
Bought a press just for it. (Lee single stage with the collet)
