7.5 upper

This is interesting - and it's something I've considered. I'm wondering what would happen to a pistol registered AR if they prohibited "The rifle known as the AR 15". I hope we never find out, but it is Canada after all.

Strategic thinking, not one of my strong points...

Something to consider as the only 12(X) that can be taken to a range is 12(6). Maybe not a bad idea to get another lower and get a 7.5" in a pistol cartridge and register it as a pistol...anyone have an AR registered as a Pistol?

terBC, that unit looks great! Makes me want to free up the cash for another build. Those Hera stocks are really something!

Thanks NLGT! Managed to get mine out the other day with the Hera stock and it's pretty comfortable. I just wished the finishing on the stock was more refined by that I mean it scratches up easily and you can see manufacturing tooling marks and some unfinished edges you can feel some slight burrs it doesn't fit together as cleanly or seamlessly as I would have expected. It's not as well finished as say Magpul or MFT furniture which is what I had on it before. If you look at the thread in the Wolverine forum you can see more detailed pictures.

I've been thinking about replacing the standard carbine buffer I have in it with just a H or a H2, right now it's consistently ejecting at the 3 o'clock position I'd prefer it to eject somewhere at 4 or 5 o'clock that way it's not constantly ejecting brass to the person next to me on the firing line, I usually try to grab the far right station but that's not always possible (this is an out door range without dividers at the stations)

If I take a stock of a rifle and make it to a handgun, the receiver stays the same and it is still a variant of a AR15.

If I had a FN FAL, it wouldn't be removed from prohibited by removing the stock. And it wouldn't become 12(6).

There is no such thing as pistol registration in Canada.

There are handguns that are automatically and forever classified as handguns, thus registered as restricted.

Once a handgun, always a handgun once registered as restricted for being a handgun.

A pistol version of an XCR, registered as a handgun, can never be made Non Restricted. Use that as an example.

This thread has given me more confidence for a short barrel. I have a 6" custom barrel coming :D

Anyone had issue with a recessed barrel in a handguard destroying a handguard?

No problem with a noveske flaming pig or dlask clone. But those don't vent gas out sideways but forward. Obstructing a muzzle device with a handguard is a bad idea.

That's what I was thinking lol. Might buy a longer handguard and do some custom cutting to the proper length.

Bushmaster/PSA 7.62x39 (not mine, belongs to my ex). Awesome little gun.

Also 7.62 x 39 ignore the mag 7" psa upper. Made the mistake of trying to register it with the aero lower, nothing but a headache so far lol. according the rcmp such a gun doesn't exist and they need to make a new frt entry :/
