So I just picked up a Swiss K31 and a case (480 rnds) of fmj surplus ammo, shoots great btw.:)

I would like to get some softpoint ammo but I'm not having much luck in my searches.

Does anyone have any Ideas where I could get some?

Very tough to find for sure. K31 makes for a wicked hunting rifle so its a shame commercial soft points are more readily available.
Pulling the bullet from surplus and replacing it with an equal weight lead one may be your best bet.

Calgary Shooting Center is a solid bet for finding 7.5x55 ammo as well. I picked up some of the Norma soft point from them for about $50 /20rds a while back.

I picked up several boxes last fall to try them out. Haven't looked for them since and didn't know they are hard to find. I will say that the PPU ammo, as always, shoots exceptionally well. When I have enough brass and/or run out of factory loads, I will just load my own.

GP11 is Berdan primed, so pretty much useless for reloading... A simple kinetic bullet puller will yank the bullets, and you can run it through a press to seat new soft points. Good luck!

The Swiss surplus ammo has brass casings so I'm saving them..lol

I don't reload but there is a fellow who I know that does, that might be my best bet.

Thanks anyways.

Not useless at all, they can be converted or you can reprime with berdan primers. That being said it can be a pain in the arse to do.

If you don't reload, you must know someone who does. He can pull the FMJ bullets and substitute a 165 to 180 gr .308" soft point. I suggest a flat base, soft point bullet.

He could convert about 100 rounds in an hour or so, and you would have a big supply of good hunting ammo.
