hey every, i bought a K31 several months ago, and for the life of me i haven't been able to find ammo for it...i am dying to shoot it.....any help or direction as to where to get this ammo would be most appreciated.......i am considering learning how to reload if i can't find any....thanks in advance

Just reload for practice. Everyone does. PRVI brass and dies available from TradeEx. 168gr - 175gr Sierra with Varget powder works good. GP11 ammo is usually supplied by the Swiss Clubs for matches. It's not often I see it being sold and only privately.

thanks everyone, i think there is now some hope for me to use this gun...lol........i saw on youtube, someone loading with a lee hand loader, were a press was not required...he was just using a rubber hammer and a die set....what would be your thoughts on getting one of those? or should i just invest that money into a press?

Buy a Lee Anniversary kit with the Classic Cast single stage press. It is a decent kit that will get you loading about as cheap as is reasonable. Beyond the cost of the kit (~$100 last I checked some time ago), you will need a set of dies (I use Redding and recommend them highly, but they are not cheap), bullets, brass, powder and primers.

I have had good luck with IMR-4064 with both 150gr and 168gr bullets in my K-31.

There's some GP11 for sale on the EE. Search in "Exchange of Factory Ammo and Reloading Equipment" for "swiss". The guy appears to be in Sudbury though.
I bought a case of GP11 a while back, and it will probably take me forever to use it all, so if you are interested in buying some and you are in Ottawa, let me know.
Also, one of the Norma distributors brought some hunting ammo in in July. I picked up a few boxes. It's expensive but it shoots very well.

Lee doesnt make the Classic Loader in 7.5x55 so you will have to buy a standard press and dies if you choose to load it. Also a lot of the brass that was out there is Berdan primed I believe which adds many more challenges than loading the standard boxer primed stuff we mostly use.

Tradex, Mystic Precision and Budget Shooter Supply all have boxer primed PRVI 7.5x55 brass. It is excellent quality and makes the reloading easy.
