Been looking around for some load data for my bros K31(got it for him whilst he waits for his PAL.....ten months later haha)but have been coming up short. Got the brass with the rifle and have some 150 grain FMJ 308 bullets plus two different powders I already use,Varget and H4895 plus CCI 200 LR primers.Any recommendations for these components or your own pet recipe/s using, well what you use. Thanks for any help.

From Hodgdon Powders website
7.5x55 Swiss

150 GR. HDY SP Hodgdon H4895 .308" 2.790" 40.0gr 2484fps - 42.0gr max 2578fps

I would use this data for H4895 for your FMJ 150gr bullet.

I did visit their site but was skeptical of using that load for the FMJ bullet but yeah same weight and it is still jacketed where it contacts the rifling so I guess I should be alright. Thanks for the confirmation cant wait to try this load out but have to wait for the shell holder till next week so....

When two similar bullets have the same weight in the same calibre they may shoot a bit different due to length shape etc, but you can still work up from the starting load. Something like a Barnes copper solid, or lead cast bullet I would look for the specific data for that bullet type vs using normal jacketed bullet data. Just like in your case a 165gr SP Hornady 308 Win load would be ok to use to work up for a 308 Win 165gr Winchester bullet.

My favorite load for my K31 is : 150 grain FMJ, IMR4895 at 42.5 grains, COL at 2.920 ", extremely accurate and decent recoil.

Thanks for the replies guys.Visiting family next weekend which brings me right by a store that can cater to my needs for a shellholder as well as some different components that I need. Can't wait to start working up some loads in the next couple weeks.

I've had great success in ALL my K31s shooting 'lighter' loads, and GP11 of course. One of my favorite range loads uses some of the components you mentioned above. Hornady 150gr FMJ BT, and H4895 powder. I was using PRVI brass and Win LR primers but for the last few months I've been reloading GP11 brass with Tula LR berdan primers. 36.5 gr of H4895, 150gr Hornady FMJBT, GP11 brass FL sized and trimmed to 2.179, Tula primer, COL 2.850", this is a nice light/accurate load that is easy on the shoulder. I am able to consistently have all shots touching within an inch when shooting 3 or 4 shot groups, but Im still working on making 5 shots touching under an inch (but I believe this is more shooter related than rifle/load). Im using a clamp on scope mount with a K4 weaver mounted to accomplish this.

I'll see if I can post some pics of some target sheets, I even have a video shooting this load with great success.

Goodluck and have fun,
