7.5x55 reloading?

On the brink of buying a K31 and wondering, what brass do people use to make their ammo out of? I know I can buy brass, but wondering if there's a cheaper alternative. I've got the equiptment, and of 1 month from now, the space to set up and start practicing my reloading skills, so figuring things out now.

Get a copy of Cartridge Conversions. Any brass that can be converted will likely be around the same price as ready made brass. Epp's carries ammo and brass.

tradeex has brass use .308 bullets

you can also use win 284 brass run them thru your dies

And how's performance of that calibre out of K31?
The case is obviously larger than 308, but the velocities that I found on the Net are not impressive. Basically the question is, what toughest job can a K31 do?

7.5X55 Swiss

The Swiss had this caliber figured out long before it's time. I use the 284 Winchester brass and what ever 30 cal bullet you want. In the K31 you should be close to 30-06 ballistics as the case becomes a blown out version of a 284 after the first firing.

I use a bunch of resized .284 brass for my K31 and they work great. I also stumbled onto a bunch of new 7.5mm brass at a show. Haven't loaded any of that yet.

You also want to pay attention to the COL for your cartridge. I believe K31's have a short throat.
