So bought a Swiss K11 today because if you have any room in a gun safe it must be filled. That said, new rifle, new calibre, new cartridge to reload.

I'll be using 180gn bullets in my reloads and Hodgdon helpfully lists several powders that I already have in some supply as being suitable for 7.5x55mm Swiss including BL-C(2), H335, H4831 and H4895.

That said, always interested in hearing what others are using and what sorts of results they're obtaining. If you want to share loads, cool, if not -- just your thoughts on what powder you use is fine by me.

I have a G11. It shoots Hornady 165gr BTSP really well with IMR4064 powder. The best groups I have ever got with an open sight rifle. I bought but haven't yet installed the taller front sight that's available so you don't need to aim a foot low at 100 yds.

For a nice plinking load, less than 2MOA, i'm using the el cheapo cam pro 147gr over 37.5gr of IMR 4895. Quite a bit slower than factory spec, but does make the sights correlate a bit better for 100/200yds

In my K-31 150gr -Win PPSP/44gr -IMR 4895/Fed210/Privi brass......OAL - 2.893[yours may vary] 3 shot group at 100 yards steel scope mt Swiss 6x Leupold .652"
It shoots 3/4" with irons so not much improvement.

Can the GP11 ammo not be shot in both? This isn't a stiff handload but it's best to err on the side of caution.

GP11 can be shot safely in both. K31 has a tighter throat and loads tailored for K31 don't necessarily shoot as well in the K11. Saw a difference in mine.

I FL size and seat to fit GP11 specs chamber. Then I can use it on any model more recent than the 1889, M93 and Kadet without hassles.

That's what I do too.

Which brand die are you using for FL sizing? There are k31 specific dies, and regular 7.5x55 dies which would be GP11 spec. As I understand it - brass FL sized in K31 specific die might not or will not chamber in a K11 or G11.

Hornady Custom Grade New Dimension Series III 7.5 Swiss. Also have RCBS FL 7.5x55 SCHMIDT-RUBIN P/N 33501, a bit rough with some stuck cases and never had time to polish it , and gave away a Lee set to a friend. Not a fan of Lee's Locknut with just a rubber washer without a set screw. All for Schmidt-Rubin chamber.

Incidentally, I forgot to ask -- where did you get the taller front sight? I was looking for a place in Canada, as the US is a bit of a pain these days, but I'm not picky. Rather hard to aim precisely when you're POA is off the paper :)

I have quite a few extras.
These for the 1889, 96/11 and 1911.
