Hey folks, i have an m305 i'm chopping down to 18 3/4" and i was wondering what kind of compensators or muzzle breaks are available to us? Ideally the comp would also be a flash hider to avoid being blinded once i put optics on the rifle, but my main concern is reducing muzzle climb.

Its hard to get anything from the states anymore. It sounds like it was pretty common to take AR-15 style suppressors, made for 1/4-28 thread and thread the barrel for them, and have the gunsmith ream out the suppressor / break for the larger caliber. Dlask is or was making them. The Smith USCG break was a nice design, but I never got around to dropping $200 for one. They also made a shorter one for the AR-15 that would have been a nice compact break for the M14, but lacking a front sight dovetail.

i don't need the sight dovetail as i have a gaslock sight. I do however need a normal thread on comp because the original splined sight threads will be cut off.

Not written in stone but I think most ppl equate a suppressor to a silencer
suppressor = sound suppressor
compensator = recoil compensator

.02$

I will have 1/2 x 28 threaded , .30 CAL Vortex flash hiders and some others TBA, most likely by tomorrow. Once they are in my mitts I'll post pics, pricing and details
P.S. these are manufactured in Canada ;)

I am so getting one :)

I know you can't say anything, but will they look like the smithy's?

Gotta see these for sure then ... something made by a fellow Canuck ... nice! :D

For you guys with who take their rifles in the bush - just remember sharp and pointy brakes tend to snag brush and branches. Something to consider. I like the 'rounder style' mb for that reason.

For now, I am building my inventory with "MADE IN CANADA" products.
I am also looking into getting some of the U.S. made stuff BUT.... importing this stuff ain't easy these days. Getting Smith Enterprise "flash hiders"..... only if they (the states) lift the export ban on them. Muzzle brakes fall under a different category and I am pursuing some of the more popular ones. Don't expect to see them in my inventory any time soon.

My goal is to boost the Canadian firearms industry, grow it at home, so I will be supporting and marketting products that are made in canada as my primary focus.

That's great. I really hope all this hard work pays off for you. Canada is becoming so isolated from the states, we need homegrown businessmen like you to fill the void.

This is example with REAL 308 muzzles and thread (Yankee Hill 69.95 $ and Troy 76.95 $), sorry pictures not good I try take better.

FABSPORTS those are for standard barrels only are they not?
and will not fit on a shortened norinco barrel.
for those wanting flash hiders and muzzle brake options for the Shortened barrels..... those will not work as you can not duplicate the standard thread pattern onto the shorty barrel.

I have a bunch of clients who bought the yankee hill and the troy... wanting them for shortened norc barrels only to find they were S.O.L.

i will be offering 1/2 x 28 theaded .30 cal for those going the shorty route. Here's a preview of some CANADIAN MANUFACTURED items currently being offered to me in .30 Cal 1/2 x28 ... i'll add more to my dealer add as the pics come in

I have had several M14 Cut down and re threaded to the USGI thread pitch on the Muzzle with out any problems Hungry can attest to that. For a machinist to do the work is no more difficult than cutting1/2 x28 threads but it is the setup that takes longer

are you finishing the crowns of these barrels at 18.5 or 18.75?
While I'm not disagreeing with you Savage.
I do not feel that cutting a 5/8x 20 thread, onto a customer's barrel with a diameter of 9/16 at the 18.75 mark (prethreading) is an acceptable risk to my liabilty insurance :D I know it does work....... but my machinist and myself settled on 1/2 x 28 and it works..... and there are LOADS of choices of flash hiders and muzzle brakes out there for the AR , that can be adapted to the norc barrel this way.
Giving the consumer another canadian made option to choose from is what it's all about.
