7.62 Garand?

i am thinking of builting a 7.62 Garand from scratch. but i dont know much about it and was wondering if anyone can help me find some answers to these questions.

- where can i find a 7.62 m1 barrel?
- what parts are different from the orginal m1?
- anyone got any dealers with good prices and lots of parts? i am building from the ground up, from an empty receiver and everything.
- are there anything like "receiver parts kit" avaliable?

Try lever arms for your receiver. I heard they have some left at $40.

bashaw sports in Bashaw south east of Edmonton on hwy 21 has barrels for 30 06 and 308. they were just about 200 bucks . they charged 100 to fit it into your original garand . and the ones Milarm has for big bucks will be cheap in a while when they dont sell any .
Anyway (and i am no expert) i was told that the barrells fitted all yer original bits and that a spacer wasnt neccesary for the mag well .
(apparently there is a spacer made for the 308 mag well )

Oh yeah, only the barrel is different, everything else is the same. I just built one using a douglass heavy barrel. Haven't shot it yet cause I suck lately and haven't been to the range......
