FYI; for those in desperate need of some 7.62x51 surplus, every month theres a gun show in Burnady, link http://www.hacsbc.ca/
where one guy always has a couple cases of south african or portuguese he sells by the case/sleeve/box/stripper clip. He's parked dead center in the middle of the room and just sells ammo. It's not cheap ~ $60./140, $80/200, $400/1000 but it shoots real nice and is the only source I currently know of in the vancouver area. Just thought I'd pass that along. I think the next show is Jan.14th/07

Hey Couch-Gator thanks for the tip.

That is slightly more expensive than John (curese on the board) if it is the same S. African surplus.

I've never had any of the Portuguese stuff. Do you know if it is Berdan primed like the S.A.? If it is Boxer I would be interested as it would be much easier to reload....

7.61 nato

John at CUSTOM RELOADING has a good quantity of the S/A 7.61
140 battle pack--$50.00 taxes in
1000 rdns--$350.00 tax in
case--$420.00 tax in--9 battle pack in plastic ammo box

jpar@shaw.ca or curese on the board.

Thanks and MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL

Just came in here to ask about this stuff.

Place here in town is selling the battlepacks for $75-$80 and he wants around $350 for 1000rnds. He also has some Spanish NATO stuff for about $6 a box. Apparently the spanish found out the pressures were too high to use in their rechambered bolt action service rifles so their pawning it off or something like that.

Good deal???

Check out John's post above yours. The battle packs are certainly overpriced by his standard, but /1000 seems to be the going rate. I'm curious is that Spanish stuff berdan or boxer primed? I know I sound like a broken record but I really want reloadable .308....Mind sharing the source if it is?

Is custom reloading a store front business?

I don't believe it is. John is the RO at PoCo....Which is a full time job and then some.:D I could be wrong though. Best to shoot him a PM or Email and find out for sure. Maybe meeting up at PoCo would be an option. I bought some .45ACP from him up there when I ran out once...

I have fired a few hundred rounds out of my 700P with nary a problem , accuracy is around1-1.25 at 100 so not too bad, Im thinking of sliding into Maple Ridge to pick up some SA-762 though......nice and cheap
