Shhhh!
Its a Firearm. Big Brother is watching. Lol! We only call it a weapon in private. Stupid sensativity rules! Lol!

Actually "weapon system" is the new term the kids all use.

Weapon system is an old military term. Anything from the C7 to the CP140 Aurora (hoorah) can be a weapon system. Still remember the day I learned the definition in training. I always paid attention during armament classes.

That's because your a browner! Lol! (and your love of guns and wepons)

What is old is new again. Your an Airforce dude, aren't you? That would make sense considering the whole "Captain" incident. Lol!

Yes. Air force. I was an AERE. I was lucky to do basic and mil col with the C7. Didn't have to parade around with the heavy FN. Very comfortable with the weapon, too comfortable. Although the older I get the more I miss those days. :)

You are not alone my friend. I too, miss those days.

Well,

Slapped my Armalite parts kit into the Cadex lower, which went easy, but the damn rifle won't rack cause it's binding. When the two halves are together with both pins in place the rifle binds when the charging handle is pulled back about an inch. If you pull the rear pin and hold it together then charge it, it's fine, but you can see the upper & lower want to seperate about 1/32" to do so. Looks like the AR-10 bolt carrier has a taper on the bottom, and when you pull the handle it starts to ramp up on the bolt catch.

Looks like either my bolt catch is out of spec, or my Cadex lower is. Either way, I'll go bubba and see if I can remove some top metal on the bolt catch....easiest and cheapest. Oh the joys of making parts from different manufacturers all work together :(

Don't do that yet.
Check the top inside of your charging handle and check to see if the gas key is hitting the sides. If the gas key is off, youll get that binding. Another thing to check is your bolt engagement. If your barrel extension is kicked off a little you will get binding in the bolt lock up too. The other thing to check is if your charging handle is binding as well. Don't bubba! You can't beat up on that upper! Lol!

It's none of that, the bottom of the carrier is binding on the top of the bolt catch....you can see the wearing between the two parts.
