7.62? Who makes it?

Someone gave me a box of 20 x 7.62 Ball. The box reads;

20 CARTRIDGES CAL. 7.62 MM

BALL

LOT: 12 - 80


The bottom markings on the rounds reads;

T Z 80

I think these rounds made by Israeli Military Industries in Tel Aviv.

I found more info on it, there's some stamped info on the back of they box, very faded...

Said something like;

308 Winchester FMJ

Can't tell you much about it, but I've noticed that some widely available 7.62x39 surplus ammo was made in 1973 and seem to be just fine...

Oh, by the way, all of the TZZ stuff is very hot ammo, so be careful when shooting this stuff out of your hunting rifles

TZZ headstamp is generally used for domestic miltary use. It will be loaded to M80 specs, which is less pressure than commercial hunting 308.
