I was in my local gun shop yesterday and asked the owner to order me some more Hornady 123 gr. bullets in 7.62 x 39. I have been loading for my son's SKS for the last year or so and had planned on getting my own rifle in that calibre but had run out of the bullets.
He phoned his supplier and after a lengthy conversation he hung up and said sorry but you won't be seeing those bullets any time soon. According to his supplier the US just imposed a ban on exporting bullets of that calibre out of the country. Has anyone else heard about this? Can anyone tell me why they would do that if it is true?
