I was at William's Arms today and they said that no more shipments of the surplus 7.62 x 39mm ammo is allowed to cross the border to Canada from the US. Does anyone know if this is temporary or permanent? Has this happened before? Can we still get it shipped to Canada from somewhere else?

Thanks In Advance!

Hasn't this been in place for several years now?
Apparently the yanks think that we are going to pipeline it all to Iraq.
They managed to loose literally TONS of high explosives over there, along with tens of thousands of AK's, but this has got them most worried.

Ya, but they are in control and that's all that matters to them. I had someone who should know tell me to get all the 7.62X39 I could get as it was one way the Canadian and US governments could make all the AK's useless. Take away all ammo. Don't believe this??? OK, don't buy up any. Dave

Rumour I heard, is that Canada is on the list of countries that harbour terrorists, and 7.62x39 is a "terrorist" round.

Ergo, no US made ammo or ammo of any sort of that calibre can cross the border. Why you don't see any Winchester or Remington SP ammo in that calibre, and why you see Euro surplus here instead.

Dosen't have to make sense.

The former Liberal governments P****d off the Americans so we now have to pay for it.

The following countries are exempt for US export permits for ammo etc...

Australia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, United Kingdom (excluding Ireland).

Sandroad is right on....the Libs. p.Oed the USA and we have to pay for it. I do tend to agree with the USA, Canada is a breeding ground for terrorists. Do you know how many tourists/visitors are in Canada beyond their stay and the Canadian Gov. has lost track of them?? Why should the US allow stuff to cross into Canada with the potential to be used against them?? On the other hand , I believe there are already many terrorists in the US.
