Hello all,
I have looked at Finnish M-27 and M-39's for a while, and occasionally come across this "7.62 X 53R" nomenclature. I understand the bores were often made to much tighter tolerances, that being not .311 but .31095 or so I've read. Is this 7.62 X 53R Finnish merely a misstype, as I've seen it in a couple places. I understand the latter part is the case length, the for part the diameter, so would it not be more appropriate to say "7.61 X 54R"?
If anyone can straighten me out on this one, it's much appreciated.
