on friday i pick up my svt 40

i reload

is there a bullet weight that is better to reload? ...what should i look for? ...i'm assuming the heavier the better? ...better BC or sec density? ...yes? ...looking to pull bullets from crated ammo ...better powder? probably start with prvi partizan...shoot them out then reload...

thanks

Tough part is finding .310-.312 diameter bullets right now. Haven't seen any on shelves locally for a bit. Tradex hooked me up with some 200 grain round noses for the 303 a while back, kind of expensive for plinking though. For an SVT you might be best served sticking close to the same weight as the military ball ammo, about 150 gr. Some claim that heavier bullets are hard on the gas system, though I've fired 203 gr MFS through mine without much trouble.
A case of Russian/Czech/Bulgarian surplus ammo is still a pretty cheap way to shoot as well. Just need to do a full clean after a shoot. Some places will do free shipping on a full case too, depending on just how NW MB you are.
