Someone at work just informed me that I can use 7.62x54r in my 30-06 bolt action Winchester 670. I don't believe him, but before I rebuttal him, I thought that I would ask first here.
No such thing as a dumb question, but there is sure some bad and dangerous advice, like from your friend. Its good that you asked instead of trying, however I doubt that cartridge would even chamber in your 30.06, never mind closing the bolt. Stick to only the cartridge that is stamped on the barrel. Don't listen to anyone else.
