Hey Guys;

Got going through some of my ammo & found a box marked DA 57 with the Nato circle & cross through the circle.

Is this stuff corrosive?

Cheers & Thanks in Advance

No. And it is really good ammunition. Particularly when compared with the IVI which replaced it. When DA ball was used for target competion in the PRAs and DCRA, regular DA ball was at least as good as US NM ammunition. Good lots of DA were better.

Nice!

But, this now begs the question... Do I run this through my 1919 as 'blasting' ammo? Or keep it aside for my M14??? I was in the process of filling up my second 250 round cloth belt & thought I would just use up the old ammo in my stockpile...

Cheers

Okay, that leaves me the choice between the Norinco 7.62x51 Ball ammo OR the Portugese Nato Ball...

Which one is the blasting ammo? Considering I have yet to get the Norinco to run in my 1919 as I am afraid to keep increasing headspace till it goes BANG... And have yet to remove the firing pin in my bolt to headspace the gun with a cartridge...

Thoughts?

Cheers & Thanks tiriaq!

The FNM is good ball ammunition. None has been available for quite a while.
The Norinco that I used to sell was actually quite accurate. Don't know about the current product, have never used it.
It would be worthwhile testing the Norinco in your M-14 to see how good it is, before relegating it to blasting category.
The Norinco is replaceable at present, the FNM isn't.
I'd try to get the gun set up for the Norinco, seeing as it is available.

I have a lot of IVI brass, and am sure I have some PMP 147 gr. ball bullets somewhere. Was planning on getting loading.
