I have a bunch of this surplus ammo on stripper clips. "DA 59" head stamp with the NATO crosshairs and "CI DAO 8 - 59" on the stripper clip.

Any clue of the manufacturer and type of ammo from the headstamp?

Domonion Arsenals, government manufacturer of service ammunition. This is 7.62 NATO ammo, 4th year of production so it has some collector value, especially on stripper clips. Not huge value but some.

If there is no color tip on the bullets there's a 99% chance they're ball rounds. No real collector value, good shooting ammo and reloading brass.

It should not be corrosive at that year of manufacture and will be very accurate for surplus.
Even our current IVI 7.62 NATO ammunition was very good.
The requirements for accuracy and performance on the C21 7.62mm NATO Ball cartridge have not changed over the years. Even the current C6 machine gun ammunition ball rounds are still C21 designate manufacture.
Yours will be 147gr FMJ Ball rounds Sir.
I would just shoot them personally.
